Good Friday - Friday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m. in our Chapel: A Service of Tenebrae, or "Shadows," is based on a twelfth-century late night/early morning service meditation on the passion of Christ.
Easter Sunday
Friday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. in our Sanctuary
On Easter, we proclaim that nothing, not war, despair or even death, can stop the love of God. With songs of joy, our magnificent choirs, organ, and brass ensemble, we will celebrate God's resurrecting love in our lives and in the world!
Bring flowers to add to our beautiful flower cross and have your photo taken. After worship there will be an Easter Egg Hunt at 11:30 a.m. in our Sanctuary.
Some of us are lifelong Methodists, others from different traditions and some from no religious background at all. We believe each of us is growing into the person God created us to be. We value the examples of those who have gone before us (tradition and scripture), the use of our minds (reason) and hearts (experience) as we seek to understand God’s intention for our lives. When faith is shared from a breadth of experiences and identities our community is richer.
All people are welcome at First United Methodist Church. We are proudly part of the Reconciling Ministries Network and welcome all persons, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, age, physical or mental capacity, and education, socio-economic or marital status.
Indigenous Land Acknowledgement
We, acknowledge that the land upon which we worship was the ancestral homeland of the Tongva People for thousands of years. Approximately two thousand Tongva people still live in the Los Angeles area. We honor their connection to this region and give thanks for the opportunity to live, work, worship and learn on this sacred land.
We Welcome All
