Interim Pastors

Rev. Ken McMillan
Ken McMillan is a native of Santa Barbara, a graduate of UCSB with a B.A. degree in music, and a graduate of Iliff School of Theology in Denver. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1960, and as an Elder in 1962. His last appointment of 17+ years at Los Altos UMC in Long Beach was preceded by pastorates in Corona del Mar, Sierra Madre, Fountain Valley, and Highland Park. Since retiring in 2002, he has served interim pastorates at Anaheim UMC and Belmont Heights UMC. He currently chairs the Annual Conference Board of Pensions. Ken has been married to Patty for 52 years, and they have two children and two grandchildren.

Bishop Beverly J. Shamana
Bishop Shamana received a Master of Divinity Degree from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois in 1980 and was ordained Elder in 1984. She served as senior pastor to churches in the Los Angeles area and served on the Council On Ministries program staff of the California-Pacific Conference until she was elected a Bishop of the United Methodist Church by the Western Jurisdiction in July 2000 with assignment to the San Francisco Area, California-Nevada Conference. Since her retirement in 2008 she has taught classes in creativity and leadership at United Methodist seminaries, served as guest preacher in a variety of settings, while continuing to serve on the Bishop’s Task Force on Ministry With the Poor. She is married to Walter Woods, a layman in the Episcopal Church with whom she enjoys their two adult children.

Rev. Debbie GaraPastor Debbie
Associate Pastor
Rev. Gara is a graduate of the University of California, Fullerton, with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, and also holds a Master's degree in Religious Education from the School of Theology, Claremont. Debbie is an ordained Permanent Deacon, and has been an Associate Pastor at FUMC since 2004. Areas of responsibility include: Children's Ministry, Adult Ministry, Evangelism - Communications & Hospitality, Teaching, Pastoral Care,
and Administration.

Rev. Allison Mark

Rev. Allison Mark
Associate Pastor
Rev. Mark was appointed as Associate Pastor on July 1, 2008. Graduating from the University of Washington with Bachelor degrees in Sociology and American Ethnic Studies, and a minor in Communications, Allison worked as a Christian Education Director at Kilohana UMC in Honolulu, HI before attending seminary at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. She completed her Master of Divinity degree in 2007 and continued to work in the Bay Area at Buena Vista UMC doing Community Outreach & Development, and Young Adult ministries. Her areas of ministry at FUMC are: Youth, Young Adults, Missions, Peace & Justice, Pastoral Care, and Administration.

Dr. Stephen Gothold
Director of Music Ministries (part-time)
Dr. Gothold is a graduate of the University of Southern California. Steve has served as Director of Music Ministries at FUMC Pasadena since 1994. Areas of responsibility include: Chancel Choir and supervision of the entire Music Staff.
