Science and Faith: First UMC Welcomes Scientist and Theologian Rev. Dr. David Wilkinson

Rev. Dr. David Wilkinson

First United Methodist Church, Pasadena is excited to host Rev. Dr. David Wilkinson as guest minister on Sunday, January 25 at 10:00 a.m. in our Sanctuary. Wilkinson is a renowned author, scientist, and theologian holds that PhDs in both theoretical astrophysics and systematic theology. He is Professor in the Department of Theology and Religion at Durham University in the UK and Director of the project Equipping Christian Leadership in an Age of Science.

Through his unique combination of expertise in both science and theology, Wilkinson explores how the intersection of logical inquiry and faith informs our understanding of our place in the universe.

Wilkinson’s most recent book is “How Does God Act in the World? Science, Miracles and Mission.” He is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4’s Thought for the Day.


For those looking to delve even further into the topic of science and faith, Rev. Dr. Wilkinson will be in conversation with Prof. Mark Davis at CalTech Ramo Auditorium on Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. as part of Caltech's Behind The Book series. They will discuss his 2020 book "God, Stephen Hawking and the Multiverse." This is a free event, and RSVPs are appreciated.
