Joining the church is an important step in claiming the Christian faith for yourself. When you join the church, you make a commitment to your own spiritual journey, nurtured through worship and the love of a faithful Christian community.

We ask that all of our members commit themselves to a practice of prayer, enriching their relationship with God and upholding the church, others and themselves in spiritual devotion.

We ask all of our members to make a commitment to be present with the worshipping community whenever possible. Whether you join us for worship in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings, or via our YouTube page, worship helps us to ground us in God’s grace, listen more deeply to Scripture, reflect on sermons, and join in the shared life of the community of faith. We believe that worship, sacraments and the community that is formed in worship is absolutely vital to a growing Christian faith.

The Sacrament of Holy Baptism
In the United Methodist Church we believe that Holy Baptism is the sacrament of initiation and incorporation into the Body of Christ. When we decide to be baptized, we profess our recognition of God’s grace in our lives and our desire to love and serve Christ as our Lord. Baptism is the start of a life-long journey of growing in our practice of Christian discipleship. This commitment is both to a personal relationship with Christ and with his Body, the Church.

Baptism of a Child
When parents bring their children for baptism, they make a vow to raise their children to know and love God through the ministries of the church until they can make that commitment for themselves when they are confirmed in the faith (between 12-14 years of age). Raising a child in the church includes regular attendance in worship, Sunday School and other activities designed to foster spiritual growth and faith development experiences of children. When a child is baptized in the church, both the parents and the congregation make a vow to love, support and nurture the child in their Christian discipleship.
